Carol Hess

Carol Hess has been a trial lawyer for more than 20 years and has represented clients in all state and federal courts in New Hampshire and before the Human Rights Commission.  Carol is a mediator and arbitrator for alternative dispute resolution in the Superior Courts and the Human Rights Commission, and provides dispute resolution services both privately and for the courts.  For more than ten years, Carol has brought her extensive litigation experience and her strong problem solving skills together to help individuals and organizations resolve disputes without the expense, risk and delay of trial.  In addition to her mediation and arbitration practice, Carol has worked with non profit organizations to facilitate retreats, help resolve conflict, develop healthy board practices and lead high conflict discussion sessions.  Carol is a frequent lecturer in the area of litigation, expert witnesses, and mediation practices.

Melinda Gehris

Melinda Gehris has been serving as a neutral since 1994 providing mediation, arbitration, facilitation and neutral evaluation services.  She is a mediator for the New Hampshire Probate and Superior Courts as well as in private practice.  Melinda has facilitated the resolution of many types of disputes involving family and divorce, probate, trusts and estates, real estate, landlord tenant, personal injury, collections, employment, contract interpretation and disputes between business owners.  An experienced trainer, Melinda developes and leads programs in dispute resolution from basic mediation skills to advanced, specialized dispute resolution training, and negotiation.  She has written and published several articles on dispute resolution topics.  Melinda also has a law practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  She was named to Woodward and White’s Best Lawyers in America 2007 in dispute resolution.  Melinda has been appointed to the New Hampshire Supreme Court Committee on Dispute Resolution.  She is the immediate Past - President and Treasurer of the Association for Conflict Resolution - New England Chapter, a member of  the New Hampshire Conflict Resolution Association and the Association for Conflict Resolution.  She also chairs the New Hampshire Bar Association ADR Section and is Vice-Chair of that Association’s Dispute Resolution Committee.  Melinda received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and also earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Massachusetts.
