ABOUT MEDIATION
| In mediation, a neutral party assists parties to clarify issues, develop options and work towards a mutually beneficial resolution. Mediation allows the parties to find an appropriate outcome to their dispute. Mediation is voluntary and usually confidential so the information the mediator learns during the process is not sharedwith others. Mediators do not make decisions for the parties, rather mediators help the parties explore their own ideas for resolution. |

Mediation may take place in one session or in multiple sessions. It may take place with all of the parties together, or with the mediator having time alone with each party. The process is especially helpful in situations where the parties have an on-going relationship and would like to find a positive solution as well as defining a process for resolving future conflicts.
